Built for businesses where the owner is still part of the operation.

Pink Parrot Systems works with owner-led small and growing businesses where the person running the company is still close enough to the day-to-day to know when something isn't working quite right.

You might still be answering everyone’s questions, solving problems, jumping into processes, or filling the gaps when something doesn't go as planned. You know your business well, but being this close to it can also make it hard to see where unnecessary complexity has crept in.

I work across industries because operational problems aren't limited to one type of business. The details may be different, but the challenges are often familiar: work takes more steps than it should, information doesn't move smoothly, processes depend too heavily on certain people, or growth has exposed systems that haven't grown with the business.

When running the business starts feeling harder than it should

You don't need to have it all figured out.

But you do need to be part of the process.

I don't believe in disappearing into your business and coming back with a list of things I think you should change.

To understand what's really happening, I need you to be willing to talk openly about what's working and what isn't, let me hear from the people closest to the work, and look at how things actually happen, even when that's different from how they're supposed to happen.

You don't have to agree with every idea I bring to the table. Good consulting should involve questions, discussion, and sometimes disagreement.

What matters is that we're both willing to look at the business as it is, figure out what makes sense, and make changes for a reason, not simply for the sake of change.

You don't need an operations department, sophisticated software, perfectly documented processes, or a clear explanation of what's going wrong.

Your business may run on a combination of software, spreadsheets, handwritten notes, conversations, and things your team simply knows how to do. Some processes may be documented. Others may have evolved over time without ever being formally written down.

That's okay.

You don't need to organize the problem before you bring it to me. Part of my job is helping you understand what you're actually dealing with.

What do I need from you

  • Access to the people who know the work

The person doing something every day often knows things about the process that aren't visible from the top. I may want to hear from the people closest to the work, not just the people managing it.

  • A willingness to look at what actually happens

I'm interested in how work gets done today, not how a procedure says it should happen or how everyone thinks it happens. The gaps between the two are often where the useful information is.

  • Openness to practical change

I'm not interested in changing things just to change them. If something works, there's no reason to complicate it. But when we find something that's creating unnecessary work or getting in the way, you need to be willing to consider a better way.

Not sure if this is you?

You don't need to diagnose the problem before we talk. Tell me what's happening in your business, what's frustrating you, or what you wish worked differently.

We'll start there.
